Avian Flu Vaccine Clinical Trial
- 18 years and older
Avian (Bird) flu refers to the disease caused by infection with avian (bird) influenza Type A viruses. These viruses occur naturally among wild aquatic birds worldwide and can infect domestic poultry and other bird or animal species. Most avian influenza viruses do not infect humans; however two different types of the virus have caused serious infections in people.
Through new clinical trials on vaccinations, they are discovering new ways to combat infectious disease, as well as better methods of diagnosing them. Vaccine research studies help with the development of safe and immunogenic influenza vaccines that can be produced quickly to be used in the event of a pandemic is a public health priority.
